Personal Information
I am a Native Speaker from Bath, England, living in Poland since 1995. Before starting to teach English full time I worked in Research & Development labs and institutions of Higher Education. Now, I'm running my own company called Langtech, which has a Facebook page.
In addition to giving courses on Semantic Search and the Social Web, I also teach adults and young learners English at all levels from Beginner to Intermediate to Advanced. If you are interested in improving your English or extending your vocabulary within any of the following areas then please contact me:
- Information Technology
- INTERNET/Semantic Web
- Finance, Banking and Law
- Biology/Medicine
- Electronics
- Computing
- Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
Since moving to Poland I have worked for most of the main language schools and continue to do so. While I prefer teaching Business English and preparing students for the LCCI and BEC examinations, I also prepare students for CAE and FCE. Teaching Business English is a pleasure for me because then I can utilise the vocabulary I acquired while studying for my degrees which are listed below:
- 1991-1992: University of Surrey, MSc in Signal Processing and Machine Intelligence.
- 1982-1983: University of London, MSc in Ergonomics.
- 1979-1982: University of Sussex, BSc. Hons. Biology, majoring in Experimental Psychology (2.1).
To help with my teaching I maintain several blogs dedicated to helping people, including myself, improve their English.
When I'm not earning a living I like to write music and poetry. The inspiration for the aforementioned activities comes from Hill Walking and Skiing. My interest in skiing eventually led to me qualifying as a ski instructor in 1979.
