Who's John Hellewell?
Personal Information
Hi, my name is John, I’m 23 years old and originate from South Yorkshire in the north of England. I have been living and teaching in Poland since the start of December 2011 and so far am having the time of my life, getting to meet new people and experience new cultures and traditions.
Why did I move to Poland? I spent the Summer of 2011 teaching children how to play the guitar at an Arts Camp in Pennsylvania USA. During my time there I met a very nice Polish Lady and had an amazing time traveling around America together. After I returned home to England it became clear to me that Poland was where I wanted to be... so... here I am!
I have always had a passion for teaching and get great pleasure from imparting my knowledge to others. Before teaching English I worked as a private guitar tutor whilst studying music at the London College of Music. Teaching has always been a pleasure for me and what ever subject or ability level I am teaching I make lessons fun, interesting and cater to the individuals needs.

I Have five years teaching experience, during this time I have taught a wide range of abilities and ages, individual students and groups. Having completed four years at university I have achieved the ability to communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds. I am friendly, reliable, sociable and honest.
As you have probably already realised from my profile, music is a very big part of my life, playing and listening! I spend my free time learning new styles and techniques to play on the guitar. In the UK I played in several bands doing regular gigs at pubs and weddings, although this was mainly cover songs I enjoy writing my own material. The main styles of music that I love are Rock, Blues and Country.
The rest of my time is spent socialising and learning conversational Polish. “Ja próbuję mówić po polsku, ale to jest trudne.” - I know how difficult it is to learn a second language so I am very patient and understanding with all my students.
